The microchip has brought amazing technology into our lives, but at the sharp end of UK computing even more exciting innovation is taking place. And, as Dave Hall discovers, the UK is a great place to study the subject whether you plan to go into research or business

Computer piece – the Indian version.

I wrote these features in spring 2011, and having interviewd lots of people at universities in the UK, I surprised myself at the breadth of disciplines computer science reaches …. There’s a lot of exciting and innovative stuff being done at UK institutions. It was published in Club UK, published by the Guardian and British Council, and distributed worldwide.  I had to rewrite the bugger three or four times for different countries.
